11th Annual Dance Revue
Our 11th annual Dance Revue took place on Friday 9 March and showcased the fantastic work that takes place in the dance department as well as the year 10 and 11 examinations.
The pupils worked incredibly hard to prepare for performance, especially as there was snow to contend with so rehearsals went on much later then originally planned. We would like to thank each and every one of them for their commitment.
Year 11 BTEC’s exam performance was a piece called Danawa – Meaning war in Native Indian ’Cherokee’. This was created in collaboration with the dancers as part of their Unit 2 examination task.
Year 10’s exam piece was Too Good At Goodbyes– The group had been working on developing their lyrical Jazz style in collaboration with the choreographer Liberty Jones.
As well as the Year 11 & 10 exam pieces, year 7, 8 and 9’s performed and we were also joined by Centre Stage Musical Theatre Company.
Finally, we would also like to thank the visiting dance artists; Liberty Jones, Jack Stinton, Roni Reade and Laura Eagle-Sayer for their continued support; having helped enable the collaborative dance projects.
