Stories of Success

This term Caister Academy was delighted to welcome a number of our ex-students back to school. We are proud of our alumni and the stories they told our students in a series of assemblies enjoyed by each year group.

Heather Pontin hosted an assembly to year 8 on ambition and aspiration.

Heather is a prominent regional political counsellor and campaigner for a successful political party. After her studies at Caister Academy, Heather set up the Great Yarmouth Youth Debate competitions.

Adam Southgate delivered a remote assembly to year 9 students to discuss his university experience. Adam is in his final year at the University of Plymouth studying 3D design. Adam joined Miss Mason’s Year 10 BTEC Engineering class to expand on his passion for product design and engineering.

Emmy Manning delivered an assembly to year 7 students to talk about life after school. Emmy works within the legal department of a local global offshore company within oil, gas and renewables. Emmy also met with year 10 to discuss higher education and careers in Law.

James Dyble delivered a remote assembly to year 10 students on careers within the travel & tourism, entertainment and marketing sectors.

Taking this route himself, James is now a Direct Marketing Executive at the Travel Corporation and previously worked for Merlin Entertainment.

Caprice Pawsey met with year 11 students to discuss life at university. Caprice is currently in her 4th year at King’s College London, studying Medicine.

Year 11 asked some excellent questions and we were delighted to welcome Caprice back to school to tell her story.
