Our Prefect body is a vital part of life at Caister Academy. The team is made up of about 52 young people who assist with duties ranging from monitoring corridors, to organising assistance for parents evenings, representing the Academy at outside events and making speeches at more formal events at the Academy. They are recognised and respected by all the pupils and staff for their commitment to the school and their eagerness to make it a better place. Each prefect is trained to help prevent bullying and carrying out of restorative justice in corridors among our pupils.
Inspire and Aspire
Many see the prefects as inspirational role models and aspire to be part of this vibrant active group of young people. As a result when they reach the end of year 9 each pupil is invited to be part of the prefect body and if successful they train as assistant prefects mentored by their seniors until they are officially functioning as prefects. They make life at school much more pleasant and are greatly involved in the day-to-day functioning of the Academy. Our Head boy and Head girl together with the Deputies and Senior Prefects are very proactive in getting the Academy to be a better, safer place for all our young people.
