Caister Lifeboat Remembrance

The Academy were honored to except an invitation for 3o pupils to attend the Caister Lifeboats remembrance service attended by the Archbishop of Canterbury on the 8 November.  The service was well attended and opened with a payer from Reverend David Wells, this was then followed by pupils from Caister Junior School singing Make Me A Channel Of Your Peace. There was a moving reading by Mrs Hubbard a granddaughter of on if the few survivors of the Beauchamp Lifeboat Disaster.  The event ended with the Archbishop boarding a lifeboat to lay a wreath out to sea.

Mrs Bridges described the event saying “ It was a to be invited to Caister Lifeboat station to pay tribute to the lifeboat men who died in the service to others. It gave our pupils an insight into the lives of the lifeboat men and the historical context of the saying “Caister men never turn back”. All pupils felt part of the Caister community and recognised the role they have to play.”
