On the 31st of October pupils from the Academy Choir participated in the annual High Schools Choir Festival at St Andrews Hall Norwich, this year’s theme was The weird and the Wonderful…and featured a variety of styles and genres, from Mozart’s Dies Irae and Purcell’s Cold Song, to Bohemian Rhapsody and The Phantom of the Opera. The finale was a specially commissioned Halloween arrangement by David Stowell including Thriller, Ghostbusters, The Monster Mash and much more!
Accompanying the singers were young musicians from Music Service ensembles including the Norfolk County Symphonic Wind Band, a string orchestra and a rock band.
The concert was conducted by The Come and Sing Company.
Pupils rehearsed as a Mass choir during the day and performed in a concert during the evening. Pupils dressed up in Halloween costume for the performance. It was an enjoyable day and evening which was organised by the Norfolk Music Hub .
